ATS Leadership Academy for Division Heads
Virtual and In-Person Leadership Program
Overview:
The Association of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Division Directors (APCCSD) & Pediatric Pulmonology Division Directors Association (PPDDA) leadership groups invite current adult and pediatric division heads to participate in a year-round leadership course to improve skills and discuss issues facing divisions today. The ATS Leadership Academy for Division Heads will hold live virtual sessions (April 16, 2025) and a half-day in person course scheduled for Saturday May 17 from 8am – 12pm PT at ATS 2025 San Francisco.
Objectives:
This year long course is designed to provide heads of pulmonary and critical care divisions in the US and internationally with targeted, practical tools to elevate leadership skills and meet unique demands of their roles.

Life as a PCCM division director requires balancing clinical responsibilities with administrative duties, research, teaching, and often leadership role within the department of the Medical School. A successful leader in PCCM division needs to have recognized clinical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong management skills to advance the multiple missions of the division.
