PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Yvonne J. Huang, MD, ATSF, FAAAAI

This Assembly is concerned with allergic, immunologic, and inflammatory mechanisms affecting the respiratory system in health and disease, as well as immune mechanisms of critical illness. This includes all aspects of basic mechanisms cellular immunology, systems biology, epidemiology, and clinical manifestations.

ASSEMBLY ON BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE AND HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH (BSHSR)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Michelle Sharp, MD, MHS

This Assembly seeks to understand and improve health behaviors and outcomes, improve systems of care, reduce health disparities, and develop and evaluate innovations in training and education administration. Members have expertise in psychology, adherence to therapy, clinical epidemiology, statistics, health services research, health economics, comparative clinical efficacy and effectiveness research, performance measurement, quality improvement, implementation science, and medical education. Members represent a wide variety of clinical interest areas, including pulmonary diseases, critical illnesses and sleep‐related breathing disorders.

ASSEMBLY ON CLINICAL PROBLEMS (CP)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Surya P. Bhatt, MD, MSPH

This Assembly is concerned with clinical problems in diagnosis, therapy and health care, improvement for training of physicians and other allied health professionals, and development of innovative methods for health care delivery. The Assembly has particular interests in clinical trials and observational studies (both epidemiologic and translational) related to COPD, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Bronchiectasis (both CF and non-CF), and Interventional Pulmonary Medicine.

ASSEMBLY ON CRITICAL CARE (CC)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Aluko Hope, MD, MSCE

This Assembly is concerned with the integrated diagnosis and management of critical care patients; clinical, mechanistic laboratory and translational studies dealing with disease such as ARDS, respiratory failure, sepsis, multiple organ failure, intoxication syndromes, neurocognitive dysfunction; recovery from and consequences of post-critical illness dysfunction, health-economic impacts of critical illness; and programs to improve the quality of health care for patients and provide continued education to physicians and other allied health professionals.

ASSEMBLY ON ENVIRONMENTAL, OCCUPATIONAL, AND POPULATION HEALTH (EOPH)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Tara Nordgren, MD

This Assembly is concerned with the impact of environmental and occupational exposures on lung health, as well as genetic susceptibility to environmentally and occupationally related lung disease. Includes epidemiology, exposure assessment, toxicology, occupational/environmental medicine, and population health.

ASSEMBLY ON NURSING (NUR)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Tammy L. Eaton, PhD, MSc, RN, FNP-BC, ACHPN, FCCM

This Assembly is concerned with clinical research, patient education, symptom management, patient and family engagement, practice improvement, and research incorporating interdisciplinary collaboration and a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach. The assembly represents a wide variety of clinical areas across pulmonary disease, critical illness, and sleep disorders.

ASSEMBLY ON PEDIATRICS (PED)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Christian Rosas- Salazar, MD, MPH, ATSF

This Assembly is concerned with both the clinical aspects of and research into the growth, function and pathophysiology of the respiratory system of the developing child, adolescent and young adult.

ASSEMBLY ON PULMONARY CIRCULATION (PC)

\

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Soban Umar, MD, PhD, ATSF

This Assembly is concerned with the physiology, cellular and molecular biology, and clinical aspects of the pulmonary circulation, and the interrelations between respiration and pulmonary circulation.

ASSEMBLY ON PULMONARY INFECTIONS AND TUBERCULOSIS (PI-TB)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Kelly Pennington, MD

This Assembly is concerned with the entire spectrum of acute and chronic pulmonary infections encompassing bacterial, tuberculous and nontuberculous mycobacterial, viral, and fungal infections; all aspects from pathophysiology, immunology, and host defense, microbiology, epidemiology, prevention and control, to diagnosis and treatment; and all clinical manifestations including community-acquired and hospital-acquired infections, infections in the immunocompromised host, airway infections, bronchiectasis, and empyema.

ASSEMBLY ON PULMONARY REHABILITATION (PR)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR
Neil Greening, MBBS, PhD, FRCP, BMedSci
