Who is the target audience?

Mid-Career ATS Members (or really any ATS member interested in a fun and energetic story about career ups and downs from a senior ATS member who has worked through them).

What are the anticipated benefits or goals?

These are personal and career development sessions geared towards ATS members who seek to learn about self-reflection, personal growth, empathy, and professionalism via a narrative medicine format.

Are these geared towards specific practice areas?

Yes and No. Diverse speakers who have exemplified perseverance are chosen from varying backgrounds, but stories may include aspects of medical education, clinical practice, leadership, mentorship (as mentee or mentor), scientific investigation, and even personal life. Ideally these sessions will reflect on major career transition points, balancing personal life events or obligations, and a hindsight view (key take home points) of each speaker’s own career decisions or pathways as they wish to portray their story.

Are there any rules to attendance?

Please be respectful, and engagement is encouraged. Each session will have a moderated Q&A period.

Please join us at the ATS SpeakEasy storytelling space, aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration, where narratives come alive, inviting ATS participants to immerse themselves in a space where every story has a voice, and every listener becomes a part of the narrative.
