Both conference registration and exhibitor registration are located in the San Diego Convention Center. Attendees staying at the Hilton Bayfront, Marriott Marquis & Marina, and Manchester Grand Hyatt can register for the conference at the hotel. Signs will be available in the hotel lobby to direct you to these conference registration desks.

The front of the name badge contains name badge information, as well as a QR code that can be scanned quickly to capture attendee data. Name badges must be worn for admittance to all ATS 2018 events. Please return to registration if you have lost your name badge. There will be a $50 fee for replacement badges.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION (to and from the airport)

San Diego International Airport has a variety of convenient transportation options for getting to and from the airport. From Public Transportation, Taxis, and Ride Shares, to Rental Cars and Shuttles, San Diego offers many reliable options to get to the heart of downtown.

All rental pick-ups and drop-offs for rental car companies serving San Diego International Airport will occur at the new Rental Car Center. Free dedicated shuttle buses will run continually to transport customers between the airport terminals and the Rental Car Center.

Hertz is the official car rental company for the ATS 2018 International Conference. At the time of reservation, meeting rates will be automatically compared to other Hertz rates and the best rate will apply.

Meeting rates include unlimited mileage and are subject to availability. Advance reservations are recommended, blackout dates may apply. Government surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, airport related fees, vehicle licensing fees and optional items, such as refueling or additional driver fees, are extra. Minimum rental age is 20 (age difference charge for 20-24 applies). Standard rental conditions and qualifications apply. Vehicles can be returned to most Southern California locations. In the continental U.S. and Canada, weekend rentals are available for pickup between noon Thursday and noon Sunday and must be returned no later than Monday at 11:59 p.m. Thursday pickup requires a minimum three-day keep. Friday pickup requires a minimum two-day keep, and Saturday and Sunday pickup require a one-day keep. Weekly rentals are from five to seven days. Extra day rate for weekly rentals will be 1/5 of the weekly rate.


Taxi service is available from the San Diego International Airport to downtown San Diego. Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at the transit islands, on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level adjacent to each terminal. If you need a taxi, simply follow the signs leading to the Transportation Plazas. A Customer Service Representative will place you with the first available taxi, unless you specify a particular taxicab company. Estimated fare to a downtown destination is approximately $20 depending on location. (Please take rush hour into account when calculating time and fare).

Safety Advisory: Ignore offers of ground transportation from solicitors inside the terminal buildings. While these solicitors may look and sound official, they are not authorized to solicit passengers by law.


Several companies offer Ride Share services at San Diego International Airport. Travelers can be dropped off curbside at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Designated Ride Share passenger pickup locations are listed below:

    • Terminal 1: Exit baggage claim via the escalators, walk across the Sky Bridge toward Ground Transportation and the parking lot, exit down the escalators toward the parking lot, and the location is at the foot of the escalators along the sidewalk.
    • Terminal 2: Upon exiting baggage claim, proceed toward the Elevated Departure Roadway. The location is between American and Delta/United check-in. Look for the red umbrella.


Santa Fe Train Depot, located in downtown San Diego, is home to Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner route and the Coaster Commuter train giving attendees even more options to access downtown.

With stops from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, the Pacific Surfliner offers scenic views of the Pacific Ocean as you wind your way down the California coastline to downtown San Diego.

The San Diego Trolley, a light rail operating system, has three lines of service (the UC San Diego Blue, Orange, and Green lines). Public transit service for these routes is provided for Central, South, Northeast, and Southeast San Diego County.

There are nearly 100 fixed bus routes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit service (MTS Access). Fixed route bus services include local, urban, express, premium express, and rural routes.

At the San Diego Convention Center:

  • On-site private vehicle parking is available at the 1,950-vehicle underground garage located below the San Diego Convention Center. Rates may range from $15 to $35 on days when there is special event activity at Petco Park or other downtown events.
  • The lot is owned by the Port of San Diego and managed by Ace Parking. Call Ace Parking at 619-237-0399 if you have any questions.
  • Payment is due upon entry and there are no in and out privileges.
  • They have 31 ADA compliant parking stalls with elevator access to the convention center.
  • No overnight or RV parking is permitted.

In Downtown San Diego:

  • Directly across the street from the center, on the corner of Harbor and 8th Avenue, is a 2,000 space parking structure. Off-site parking is available at numerous nearby parking lots and garages in downtown San Diego; many are within walking distance of the convention center. Lots and garages are individually owned and operated, prices vary by location.
  • Metered street parking is available in some areas. Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Metered spots are free on Sunday and designated holidays. Meters accept nickels, dimes, and quarters. Alternatively, you can pay for parking using your phone from any meter displaying a green Parkmobile sticker. You can download the free Parkmobile app here.

The ATS International Office is located in the San Diego Convention Center, Room 26A (Upper Level).


ATS 2018 sessions will be held in the San Diego Convention Center and the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. Assembly Meetings, special events, and committee meetings will take place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.

Non-CME Industry Symposia will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina, and Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.


Exhibits are located in the San Diego Convention Center, Halls C-G (Ground Level). Badges must be worn for admittance to the Exhibit Hall and at all times in the hall.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall.

The Speaker Ready Room is located in the San Diego Convention Center, Room 24A (Upper Level).

All speakers need to check in at the Speaker Ready Room at least two hours before their talk. Speakers can bring their presentation to this room to view and upload. This area is restricted to speakers only, and badges must be worn for admittance to the room.

Most major banks offer currency exchange services. San Diego International Airport has currency exchange by Travelex. Their services include currency exchange, travel insurance, travelers' checks, Western Union money transfer, copy and fax, and prepaid phone cards. They have two locations:
