ATS Non-CME Symposia

The ATS encourages Non-CME Symposia in conjunction with the International Conference. These programs complement the content offered by the ATS and provide an opportunity for attendees to further enrich their learning experiences during the premier educational event for Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine professionals. While the content of these programs is the sole responsibility of the supporting company or companies, the ATS encourages programs that are scientific in nature.

  • Programs are held in three of the conference hotels, and may be open to all conference attendees, restricted to a U.S. or International only audience, or by invitation-only.
  • Non-CME Symposia rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to be confirmed, completed applications must be accompanied by the appropriate non-refundable deposit.
  • Programs offering CME/CE/MOC credit are not permitted.
    • MECC’s submitting an educational grant to industry for a program held during the ATS International Conference must obtain a letter of approval from the ATS. The letter must be included with the grant submission. This verifies the proposed program meets our rules and is welcomed at the ATS International Conference.
    • The use of any space within the hotel or convention center that is affiliated with the Industry Program should support conference activities, and cannot be used in combination with developing CME/CE Material or any form of Professional Credit. To obtain a letter or to learn more about supporting CME, contact Michelle Turenne, Chief, Corporate Alliances and Business Development at mturenne@thoracic.org.
  • Food and beverage needs are coordinated directly with the hotel, and are not included in the price of the program. A detailed confirmation packet including hotel contact, A/V order forms, etc. is sent to all confirmed Industry Symposia supporters.

Audio Visual (A/V) Package

A comprehensive A/V package is included and furnished by the ATS. A decision to not use the A/V package will not change the fee for holding a Non-CME Symposia at the ATS 2016 International Conference. The A/V package for each room is customized to ensure good visibility and sound quality. Please see the A/V Package plans for each room to see what is included.

In general, the following are included:

  • One Screen (Dimensions vary with room size), or two screens for rooms with over 100 participants
  • LCD Projector
  • Projection Stand
  • Confidence monitor
  • Laptop Computer
  • VGA Switcher
  • Wired Lavaliere Microphone
  • Table Microphones (Number varies with room size)
  • Floor Microphones (Number varies with room size)
  • Audio Mixer (Channel Number varies with room size)

Changing the A/V setup to rear projection will considerably reduce the numbers indicated on the provided floor plans. PSAV is happy to help you with revisions and additional A/V needs at your expense. Contact the provided PSAV contact in your Non-CME Symposia confirmation letter.
