1:00 Ventilator Dyssynchrony Results of the Reevaluation of Systemic Early Neuromuscular Blockade (ROSE) Trial J.R. Beitler, MD, MPH, New York, NY 1:10 Questions and Answers L. Reineck, MD, Bethesda, MD AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION L20 AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION AIRWAYS CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTERS LUNG HEALTH COHORT STUDY 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Target Audience Physicians, clinical scientists, nurses, paraprofessionals, educators, health care providers Objectives At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to: • apply emerging concepts of respiratory health to both clinical and research settings; • learn new findings about the participation of millennials in research studies and how to recruit this unique generation in longitudinal research studies; • improve the understanding of the current environmental influences on respiratory health in the 21st century and how early lung injury becomes clinically apparent on lung imaging studies. Pulmonary physicians and respiratory researchers define respiratory health as the absence of lung disease. Intermediate phenotypes of impaired lung health are not well-defined because of the absence of adult life-course studies focused primarily on lung health. There is a critical need to identify modifiable risk factors and biomarkers for impaired lung health to allow clinicians to recognize impaired lung health and intervene before chronic lung disease develops. The ALA ACRC Lung Health Cohort will form the first national cohort of adults focused on respiratory health. This session highlights the Lung Health Cohort, its rationale, recruitment strategy, key measurements and outcomes. Chairing: W.C. Bailey, MD, Birmingham, AL R.A.
