Health and Safety at ATS 2023

HomeAttendees ▶ Health and Safety at ATS 2023

The American Thoracic Society believes that everyone deserves to be respected and safe whenever participating in ATS activities. This includes the International Conference, where physicians, nurses, researchers, patients, and family members from throughout the world, as well as vendors and exhibitors of relevant products and services, are present. As such, the ATS will adhere to all requirements specified by the Centers for Disease and Prevention, Washington, D.C., and facility best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during ATS 2023 in Washington.

COVID Protocols in Washington, DC

The ATS will require all registered attendees, including exhibitors, vendors, and staff, to attest that they are vaccinated, before being allowed to enter any conference facilities. This includes the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, headquarter hotels, and other facilities at which official ATS conference events will take place. We encourage everyone participating in ATS-related events to wear a mask when in close proximity to others.

Please check back with us regularly as ATS may revise all safety protocols based on the current conditions, legal requirements, and recommendations in place at the time of the International Conference.

Finally, we urge all ATS 2023 registered attendees, faculty, staff, and exhibitors to observe the following guidelines.

  1. Remain home and avoid travel if experiencing any COVID symptoms.
  2. Perform a health status self-check every day for any onset of COVID symptoms, as defined by the CDC.
  3. Isolate and notify ATS staff immediately if feeling ill while at the meeting.
